China Town (Sept '08)

So the Chinatown trip was scheduled for us to leave the station this past Friday at 3:00PM but for many circumstances and a lot of people that decided to come with us we had to wait muchly. :P

Boredom took over most of us. That was until Quel person thingy decided to come with her super camera (film camera may I add). That was the beginning of the 'odd'essey.

The waiting quickly turned into a photoshoot. Left and Right there were members of Japan club laying down on the Train Platform thingy forming "Hi" Melissa being the dot in the "i" while Quel photographed us from the top view of the platform. :P

After a billion years later and two other trains, ours was here and thus we ran inside it and found the coolest seats ever (they move ^_^!).
While everyone was half dead and between many conversations my froggy thingy wallet had decided to eat Angela's pussy cat :P (no pun intended). In the mist and bliss of immaturity our vice president had decided to be the responsible one and made sure we were not going to end up in China (lol) so she made sure that we took the best way possible.
To make the long story short, we arrived at china town and I had learned to use a metro card ^_^ (aparently there's and arrow that tells you the way it which it should go, go figure). We passed by, or better said we "flew" by many little stands of fish, crabs, dragon fruit, and little dollar stores as well as many asian porn magazine stands. "I could stay here forever" Angela person mentioned while Quel responded "That's why we're not staying here." Thus we continued to this little piece of heaven called the Elizabeth Centre. There we spent much time looking at lots of little anime thingies like toys, cards, plushies, lots of mirrors, pillows, jewelery, and whatnots. After a good hour or more we met at the bottom of a escalator and lefted to go to a weird store, kinda hidden since it was in a basement, but that it had really cool posters. I took the coolest indeed ha ha :D. Right after that was the freakiest thing ever. As we were walking out of this obscure store I had spotted a familiar face so stalkerly I approached and asked this woman thingy "HI! I know you from somewhere" well it turned out that it was AJES the anime club from Rutgers University whom had also decided to take advantage from the free transit week to get to chinatown.
Weirdly enough Suzanne had a plushy I belive it was the black piggy and a person from AJES had the white one ( I might be wrong) but the point is that both had bought the same yet opposite piggies, forshadowing? Quel of course had to take a picture of them.
We went on our own way (to the chinatown arcade) while AJES waited for their remaining people so we could get all together later. While the rest of Japan Club stayed at the arcade playing games, Angela person and I had to escape lol (bet'cha guys didn't know that >:O) to the little stores, I thought about getting a haircut while we waited but i gots peer pressured into not doing it :(. Eitherway we had come back and Stewart/Mark :P had a some tokens left in this hand aparently keeping them as a reminder. Well anyways we waited there for a couple of mins and Quel person decided to photograph us again. Partly for fun and homework (yay photography class), mainly fun. Well this was fun untill of course most of the girls noticed shoes and lefted all the guys Melissa and Angela. Kinda reminded me of that youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wCF3ywukQYA) because they yelled OMG SHOES!! and ran in the store.

Right after all the shoe thing we got a call from AJES saying that they were now all here so we decided to meet and went to practically take over China, or rather a Chinese restaurant. Twenty people in total, ten in each table it was time for the members to socialize and the e-boards to have what it was a "business dinner." In which of course we decided that we shall help them with their con and they will help out in ours. Was it expensive? just in case you are wondering, no, for what I know, Angela and I asked pretty much for the same thing, and everything came out to like 5 bucks, not bad huh?

On our way back we went to an icecream place, a bubble tea place and the Saint Genaro's Fair thingy, or so I heard, at little Italy (no little passport was required) where I got lost :( So I stayed with the AJES people until half an hour later Japan Club came to get me :( There was this crazy guy with a python so you could take a picture with him, tons of pasta; this literally was a susage fest. Italian sausages left and right whe'eva you looked (lol).

Our Suzanne and her man-friend were pretty much lost so Mrs. VP and yours truly had to leave our babies in AJES's care while we went to look for them just to find out that they would be coming home on their own, hopefully later that night.
In the meantime AJES and Japan Club were on their way to the subway when Japan Club turned left on a corner and AJES people were all like "BLASTED, that's not the way and blah blah blah" and we were like "Yes it is blah blah blah" so we decided to play a little race whoever get to the station first pretty much wins. So we got in the subway our own way and Angela and I ran through the streets of New York until we reached Penn Station. We were ready to aboard the train and no sign of AJES. Quel called them and supposedly them they were in the station but curiously enough nowhere to be seen. So we decided to take the train at exactly 11:35PM without saying good bye to the AJES people (since they were invisibly present at the station).
Once inside the train we found out that the whole train was filled with students from MSU. So the guy checking the tickets was pretty much checking all our id's (free transit week). I kinda felt like I was in the Hogwarts Express :P
Well the ride back was a bit lethargic, undertandably since everyone was tired so on our way out of the station and into the parking deck there was a horrible tragedy. In this whole trip Quel had only bought one thing and she had saved it, resisting temptation to drink it, for her man-friend, a soda thingy with the popping crytal ball inside (whatever the name is).
The fate of it was to die that night. Horribly broken and its insides splattered all over the floor the sweet smelling drink existed no longer. Quel's sad face covered and filled the chilly midnight air and all of the sudden not everything was that bad. . . one thing survived . . . its ball! (lol)
The most envied prize of this soda had finally been freed from its crystal prison and it was Quel's prize now. Not everything was that bad. Here it ended our trip to Chinatown this past September 19th, 2008. Hopefully if you couldn't make it, this gave you an insight of what it was (I tried to put as much detail as I remembered) and I hope that you can make it on the next one. Feel free to post any comment you may have or corrections to this story. Hope you all liked this trip ^_~

Your President,
Luis

for the next meeting...

It seems that our next meeting will be much fun. We will be doing our 15 minutes of japanese learning, along with planning for other events. We will be choosing chefs for the Iron Chef competetion, along with talking about our bake sale.

If you have any recipies that we could use in our halloween bake sale, let us know. Call us, email us, leave a note in our mailbox, etcs.. We are looking for bakers, cashiers, and artists! (to make really funky designs of course... ^_^) We could have a trial run and bring a little bit to one of our meetings? Hmm? Try out some yummy foods? yes yes?

I'm working on getting pictures up. So far me and luis have A LOT of them, and we're trying to upload them to our site and our online albums. You can view our progress so far by clicking here....

ahh, fall....

As you can imange, lots of things have changed since the last post. ChibiCon2008 happened. And it kicked ass. I would like to thank everyone who came, helped, danced, and hung out. I'd like to thank in particular, BCC Video Game and Technology Club, BCC Anime Club, FIT's Anime club, and Rugters New Brunswick's Anime and Japanese Environmental Society. I'd like to thank the other MSU clubs, Spectrums, WMSC, A.S.S.I.S.T, and the montclairon. (despite the fact that they mistakenly credited M.U.G for the game room) I'd also thank Yarei, the artist who airbrushed the t-shirts.

I'd like to thank our eboard and members who worked hard for all of this. You all rock.

Now, it's fall and we're back in school. Which means we get to plan ChibiCon2009! This blog will be updated with the latest information, and is a great way for us to hear some feedback.

ChibiCon2009 planning starts the 1st week of October!!!
Hopefully the Saturday of that week, the 4th, we can all come together and start brainstorming ideas. We will be meeting at a Chinese buffet, somewhere. If you know a place thats good and happens to have a room with a closed door where we can converse, we'd like to know it.
